Bill Chey, MD is Professor of Medicine, Director of the GI Physiology Laboratory, and Co-Director of the Michigan Bowel Control Program. Dr. Chey received his BA degree from the University of Pennsylvania and medical degree & training in internal medicine at the Emory University School of Medicine. He went on to complete a fellowship in gastroenterology at the University of Michigan. Since completing this fellowship, Dr. Chey has remained at the University of Michigan, where he is H. Marvin Pollard Professor of Gastroenterology, Professor of Nutrition Sciences, and Chief, Division of Gastroenterology & Hepatology.

Dr. Chey runs a very active clinical research group which has received funding from federal and private sources. Dr. Chey has authored more than 400 manuscripts, reviews and book chapters yielding an H-index of 50. He is former Co-editor-in-Chief of the American Journal of Gastroenterology (2010-2016) and serves on the editorial boards of several other journals. He serves as a member of the Board of Trustees and in 2026, will become President of the American College of Gastroenterology. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Rome Foundation and IFFGD. He has participated in and directed numerous national and international continuing medical education programs in gastroenterology, and has been elected to the roster of Best Doctors since 2001 and America's™ Top Doctors since 2009.

Dr. Chey has received numerous awards including the Berk-Fise Award for outstanding clinical service from the ACG, the Distinguished Clinician Award from the AGA, Dean’s Outstanding Clinician Award, Dean’s Award for Innovation and Commercialization, and the Healio Disruptive Innovator Award.

Kate Scarlata is a Boston-based registered dietitian and New York Times best-selling author with 30+ years of digestive health experience. She was awarded Best Dietitian by Boston Magazine.

She is a world-renowned Low FODMAP diet expert and invited speaker at numerous international and national gastrointestinal health conferences from Harvard Medical School to Monash University.

She is the founder of For a Digestive Peace of Mind, LLC where she provides nutrition consultation to clinicians via educational programming and one on one consultation. Kate has developed low FODMAP education materials utilized in clinical practices across the globe as well as in the research setting. Neilanjan Nandi, MD, FACP

Neilanjan Nandi, MD, FACP is an Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Nandi received his medical degree from Northwestern University and completed his gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Miami with focus in the management of Crohn's disease, Ulcerative Colitis, and recurrent Clostridium difficile infection via Intestinal Microbiota Transplantation (IMT). Dr. Nandi's fervor for clinical education has been recognized with multiple teaching awards. Dr. Nandi was honored as the 2019 Physician Hero by the Philadelphia/Delaware Valley Crohn's and Colitis Foundation at their annual Take Steps for Crohn's & Colitis event for his work in wielding social media based platforms to amplify outreach and advocacy in Inflammatory Bowel Diseases. Dr. Nandi serves on the social media editorial board for the premier journals 'Inflammatory Bowel Diseases' and 'Crohn's & Colitis 360.'
